Cross-country skiing in Zell
Gliding along freshly groomed trails on cross-country skis and admiring the magnificent winter scenery is a thrilling experience for any winter sports enthusiast. When there is sufficient snow, Zell am Ziller has a cross-country skiing network of six free cross-country ski trails with a total length of 16 km for classical and skating style skiing, which adds some variety to your winter holiday in Zillertal.
The extensive area around Zell is suitable both for beginners and advanced skiers. This means you can glide across the flat Ziller Valley while enjoying the picturesque scenery or tackle the increasingly steep slopes. The longest cross-country ski route in Zillertal takes you from Mayrhofen via Zell am Ziller to Uderns, as well as from Stumm to Hart on the opposite side of the Ziller Valley.
You can use the high-altitude trail (5 km) on the Gerlosplatte even when the snow is thawing elsewhere.
